A real update!</title><description>&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m currently on vacation and have been since the 10th of May. I&amp;#8217;m due to return home on Friday. Actually ready to get home, however, things are dicey there right now. Please keep my home of OKC/Moore/Norman in your thoughts after the events of today. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;School is out for summer and I&amp;#8217;m fully committed to diet/working out. Really didn&amp;#8217;t care about any of that last week while I was in Philly (but still didn&amp;#8217;t have a cheesesteak), and it finally caught up with me last week as I was coming to my Family&amp;#8217;s place in Ohio. A 9 hour drive turned into a 12 hour drive. Fun times. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m going with the carb-nite solution for a little bit. I know that I tend to feel better with more protein/fat and lower carbs, so hopefully this will keep my over doing it to a minimum. Plus, it&amp;#8217;s summer and I like beer. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;3. I&amp;#8217;m taking a weight lifting class this semester. As in I have to go in twice a week and lift weights. Win win. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;4. People need to learn that when I&amp;#8217;m in the gym for my weight lifting class, I own the squat rack. Sorry, that means you can&amp;#8217;t use it for shoulder shrugs or curls or whatever else it shouldn&amp;#8217;t be used for. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;5. Really sore from the 3 month lay off of working out. And getting over a cold. Yay me. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;6. Just watched a Reese Witherspoon (This Means War) movie while laying on the couch with 2 of my bitches (that&amp;#8217;s 2 of my dogs). If you&amp;#8217;ll excuse me I&amp;#8217;m going to go put my nuts in a vice. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;7. I have 4 dogs and am currently dog sitting my mom&amp;#8217;s lab. That&amp;#8217;s 5 dogs in my house. No need to fear being the old dog dude, cause clearly I&amp;#8217;m already him. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;8. Spent a great weekend out of town. Really didn&amp;#8217;t want to come back but I ran out of money. And I got really drunk. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;9. I drunk texted the one person I shouldn&amp;#8217;t have drunk texted. But she hasn&amp;#8217;t communicated with me since Saturday night so that&amp;#8217;s a win, right? &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;10. I was told that I need to find a girl and settle down because I&amp;#8217;m evidently scared to do so. I still think I&amp;#8217;m awesome, so eff that. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;11. I&amp;#8217;m taking first aid this semester. If the professor goes off another preachy tangent I&amp;#8217;m going to give him a really bad review. Seriously, ladies, we real men like you being smooth and soft and smelling nice and I for one am very appreciative of the work you put into that. Don&amp;#8217;t let some dude who is way too into Monty python tell you otherwise. &lt;/p&gt;

Got really freaked out yesterday. Went for a walk with a friend of mine (we did 2 miles) and decided to go get some breakfast afterwards. After I had finished breakfast and was polishing off my coffee at this diner my heart started to race. I felt a headache coming on and was starting to freak out a little bit. Things eventually calmed down and I never felt like I was going to pass out. I think I was a little dehydrated cause my headache went away when I got home and chugged 24 oz. of high quality H2O. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I decided that it&amp;#8217;s time to do an experiment. I&amp;#8217;m going to treat myself as the test subject. Tonight when I go into work I&amp;#8217;m going to formulate my hypothesis and apply the scientific method and all that jazz. I&amp;#8217;ll post it here probably on Sunday or so. My working hypothesis is: &amp;#8220;Limited carb intake will result in significant body fat loss over the course of 30 days.&amp;#8221; Or something to that effect. I&amp;#8217;ll track my workouts and my food intake really well. I&amp;#8217;ll also avoid eating out as much as possible (I do have plans to go to Tulsa at the beginning of next month and I&amp;#8217;m not saying no to fat burger or fat guys or whatever it&amp;#8217;s called). My immediate goal is to make it from today until November 2nd without eating out in any capacity. It&amp;#8217;ll be planing ahead and cooking at home for every meal. This will all be wrapped up by Thanksgiving and the start of hunting season for me. Will probably need more carbs around that time. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I had my body fat, girth, height, and weight taken today as the contest at work came to a close. I was shooting for a 2% decline in overall body fat, but ended up with 1.2%. I gained 9 pounds but lost an inch overall on my waist. I noticed that on all the points they checked my body fat I had increased the numbers (gained muscle), most places pretty significantly. The lady taking the measurements even commented that I looked more muscular. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So that&amp;#8217;s my plan. Finally cleared stuff out of my garage so I can spend some time with Buffy. Did 7 power cleans each minute, on the minute, for 7 minutes. Weight was 95lbs. Only did 49 reps, but hey, it sucked. Then I set my timer for 5 minutes and hit go and did kettlebell swings (1 pood). My goal was to do 100 reps in 5 minutes. I did 50. I was smoked. Warm up was 3 minutes of jump rope. Cool down, if you want to call it that, was back squats with the Wendler progression. 5 reps each at 195, 205, 215. Holy crap, 215 was heavy. Probably should have done 185, 195, 205. But my legs were toast after the KBs. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After my workout I checked my freezer to see how I was holding up on meat. I think I have enough to get me through today and tomorrow. Payday isn&amp;#8217;t until Friday. I&amp;#8217;ve got $20 until then. Whoops. Poor planning on my end. I&amp;#8217;m sure it&amp;#8217;ll work out though, always does. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Spoke to a friend of mine who is in the same situation as I am. That situation being overweight and unhappy about it. We decided to hold each other accountable in our actions. We have different means for going about our weight loss, and different motivations but we have the same goals to strive for. Win win. He is laid up with an injured back and we didn&amp;#8217;t do very well on our food diary for the first week. Have to remedy that this week. &lt;/p&gt;
